Internships

We are looking for interns to volunteer their time!

Project Bear Hugs is a Nevada based nonprofit corporation and a 501c3 organization.  Our mission is to provide much needed comfort items to the most vulnerable populations who have survived disaster, natural or manmade.  While there are many organizations that provide the most urgent needs like food and water, Project Bear Hugs provides something different. We provide long lasting comfort.

We are currently expanding our team to better support those in need. By having the right people in place we will be able to provide more organized support and help more people who need it the most.

The time commitment for any of these positions is less than 5 hours a week, but in times of disaster could grow to 15-20 hours a week.  As a volunteer we totally respect your time and priorities, and encourage you to give time when you can, in the areas you can most effectively make an impact.

This may include training on disaster response and preparedness, fundraising and grant writing, volunteer management, logistics and supply chain management, and public relations and communications.

The skills required to be an effective intern for a disaster relief nonprofit may vary depending on the position. However, some skills that may be useful include strong communication skills, organization and planning skills, attention to detail, flexibility and adaptability, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

To make the most of your internship with a disaster relief nonprofit, it is important to approach the opportunity with an open mind and a willingness to learn. Take initiative, ask questions, and seek feedback from your supervisor and colleagues. Additionally, be proactive in seeking out opportunities to contribute and make a positive impact on the organization’s mission. Finally, take advantage of opportunities for training and professional development, as these can be valuable assets in your future career.
